A personal note from our Chiropractor, Dr. Bruce Russelll:
When I went to school forty years ago, we were taught that chiropractic was both an art and a science that dealt with the relationship between the spine and the nervous system. Now with a wealth of experience behind me and many discussions with intelligent people on the subject, I'm convinced there is art in ALL forms of healthcare, especially chiropractic, medicine and dentistry. The science of it seems to miraculously change from time to time, but the top practitioners never miss a beat, and the magic they create continues. We must remember that people routinely recover from conditions that are not medically resolvable. We don't know why, but we have to credit our body's innate ability to heal itself.
That’s where chiropractic comes in. We release nerve pressure and allow the body to heal itself. With the skilled use of chiropractic adjustments, spinal segments are realigned and allowed to resume a proper range of motion. Not only is spinal discomfort resolved, but the organs and glands innervated resume proper function and your health improves. Keeping the spine and nervous system functioning at the optimal level keeps us healthier and more productive in all areas of our lives. Scores of patients who get better and choose to maintain that health through monthly “tune-ups” appear to lead more productive and enjoyable lives.
Chiropractors also realign/adjust misaligned knees, elbows, and other joints. This reduces pain and wear-and-tear on these joints making many surgeries unnecessary. Anyone with TMJ or even bunions can attest to the debilitating state of their lives. Chiropractors are also well trained in providing exercises or supplements when necessary. Our office has a Registered Massage Therapist on staff to work out soft tissue problems that are impossible to resolve any other way.
Your primary healthcare provider could easily be a chiropractor. We recognize our limitations and are happy to refer you to others more skilled in treating non-chiropractic conditions. Unfortunately the reverse is not true. Most medical practitioners are reluctant to recognize the genuine benefit a chiropractor can bring to their patient's health.
In closing, a skilled practitioner of chiropractic OR medicine acknowledges the tremendous ability of the body to heal itself. Chiropractors merely facilitate it's genius.
Who should be seeing a chiropractor? The answer is obvious...EVERYONE!
